A straightforward slide deck in PowerPoint format that is meant to be used over multiple lessons to deal with the new Global Politics syllabus and its requirement of in-depth studies on various Global Political Challenges. This slide deck is built with the assumption you have a combined SL/HL class wherein you only see your HL students once a week or something similar.
The slide deck includes students working in small groups to research or brainstorm information, including key concepts, actors and stakeholders as well as political tensions or dilemmas brought about as a result of global equality issues. The main activity is a class debate on the challenges of achieving global equality. This is preceded by a deep dive on the issue of vaccine equality.
As a centre piece, there is a Paper 3 style prompt that helps frame the debate. There is an extension activity that asks students to write a simulated Paper 3 response to the debate prompt.
All handouts/readings are linked in the slide deck and can be downloaded for no additional charge. The slide deck is completely editable should you choose/need to do so.
