A sequence of six teaching Powerpoints based around the big enquiry question: Why are rainforests important to us?

Each individual lesson focusses on a smaller enquiry which builds towards enabling pupils to answer the BIG enquiry question by the end of the unit.
These are:

  1. Where in the world are tropical rainforests located?
  2. Where is the Amazon rainforest?
  3. What are the layers in a rainforest?
  4. Who lives in the Amazon rainforest?
  5. Who are rainforests under threat from and how are they changing?
  6. What role can we play in protecting our rainforests?

Each Powerpoint includes retrieval quizzes, teaching slides with lots of information and facts and learning tasks carefully designed to help pupils remember core knowledge.

Slides are also animated and include lots of images to support and develop pupils’ understanding.
