This lesson follows AQA GCSE Specification for Exothermic and ENdothermic Reaction Required Practical. There is a HT/FT differentiated starter activity.

This is approximately 2 hours of content for most groups, but can be condensed/extended if necessary.

The lesson contains core required information on exothermic and endothermic reactions, their respective reaction profiles, and an example integrated instruction worksheet for a practical inquiry for exothermic and endothermic reactions to support learner agency and resilience.

There is AFL throughout using GCSE application questions, hinge questioning (E.g., what is wrong with a piece of extended writing relating to a GCSE 6-mark response) and evaluation questions for the practical inquiry. All questions have answers in the notes.
