This is a lesson I used myself to teach the Energy Levels and Photon Emission concept of unit 2 Particles - A level Physics, AQA specification.

Learning objective: Describe how photons of light showcase discrete energy levels and make links from this to wave particle duality, extending this to de Broglie wavelength.

By the end of the lesson learners should be able to:

Success criteria:
SC1: Describe electron excitation and demotion.

SC2: Explain why emission and absorption spectra further prove the photon model of light.

SC3: Analyse the de Broglie equations and determine diffraction of electrons due to momentum.
