Stages Overview:
Stage 1: Vocabulary Preparation
Students begin by matching ten key vocabulary words with their definitions, laying a solid foundation for understanding the informational texts.

Stage 2: Informational Text Reading
Students delve into the informational texts, either independently or with a partner, small group, or center, to explore fascinating facts about each unique location.

Stage 3: Comprehension Check
A set of six multiple-choice questions tests students’ understanding of each informational text, reinforcing key concepts and details.

Stage 4: Vocabulary Preparation for Narrative
Students revisit vocabulary skills, preparing for the narrative texts by matching another set of ten key vocabulary words with their definitions.

Stage 5: Narrative Exploration
Students read captivating short stories, independently or in groups, that highlight themes of human virtue and adventure in each featured location.

Stage 6: Comprehension Check for Narrative
Another set of six multiple-choice questions assesses students’ comprehension of the narratives, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of the texts.
