
A full and comprehensive study course pack for teaching this highly interesting and accessible play which comes on to the CIEA syllabus in 2027.
The pack consists of 27 documents with activities and questions. As with all my resources I have not converted them into powerpoints but this can easily done by the user.

1 Introductory pack introducing the author via his poetry and bio
2 Set of useful links to educational packs, articles, reviews and even a cartoon activity - a phenomenal resource of supporting materials for classes
3 Research projects / interactive oral activity on diaspora and on some specific cultural contexts of the play
4 Prereading/ Pre-viewing questions and activities, combined with some tasks to be completed as the class watches the play (via Drama Online/ National Theatre live
(can be adapted to pre-reading activity if production is not available)
Document identifies key themes and dramatic techniques and establishes framework for full text study
5 First viewing/ reading worksheet, identifying key moments etc
6-19 Scene by scene documents (one per scene) with synopsis of the scene in question, reading questions on the particular scene and (in several instances) checkpoint activities to test developing understanding of significant motifs, symbols, techniques etc
20 Character list and character questions activity
21 Scene by scene synopsis for revision purposes
22 Set of reviews for a ‘review review’ activity
23 A comic book activity
24-27 Documents with (1) guidance for CIAE passage questions and a pack of six passage questions (NB these are all original, not past papers as the text has not yet been set) (2) A set of approximately 10 whole text essay titles (NB these are all original, not past papers as the text has not yet been set).
