In this powerful KS4 PSHE lesson, students move beyond the story of Adolescence to explore the real-world scale of violence against women. Titled The Bigger Picture, this lesson introduces shocking statistics, case studies, and group-based Socratic discussion to help students understand how culture, control, gender expectations, and trauma contribute to violence against women.
Through five real-life case studies, including guided questions, students reflect on the perpetrators’ actions, motivations, and the far-reaching impact on both the victims and their families.
This is a challenging but essential lesson that helps students think critically and empathetically about violence, responsibility, and how we can create change.
